Weekly Feature: Charlie

If you follow my social media at all (buttons at the bottom.....click, follow, share!), you already know who Charlie is.  I posted some of her fruit bath pictures on Facebook last week and then everything just blew up... and rightfully so, she is absolutely precious!  It was already an eventful week for me with the launch of the website, but then Charlie shifted things into a whole new gear.  As of this posting, Charlie was seen by more than 1.6 million people on Facebook!  I know for some accounts that may not be all that impressive, but for my growing business it was a shock!  All of the warm and positive feedback was amazing and Charlie's family has absolutely loved the attention.  So, without further delay, let's meet Charlie.

I first met Charlie in September of 2017, right after Hurricane Harvey rolled through and devastated Houston.  Her family and I made contact through a mutual friend and we wound up doing an adorable shoot for her (pic below).  Her mom worked for FEMA at the time and her dad is serving in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  So when I found out Charlie was coming back in town, I knew I wanted to get her on camera again.  She is just as sweet as she looks.

Charlie's family wanted to come out to the farm to get her 2-year old pics done.  If you don't already know, we live in an Argi-hood just outside of Houston.  There's a small vineyard, goats, chickens, some sharecropping and some harvest crops, which can make for pretty rustic backgrounds.  When they arrived, I had a plan to distract Charlie from the goats and try to keep her attention 'managed'.  But I couldn't have been more surprised when she walked right by the goats and didn't even flinch.  She headed straight for a wooden fence so she could climb up and get a better view of the 'lake' (our detention pond).  She spent the next 20 minutes figuring out how she might get down to the lake and jump in, but I eventually got her attention back when the watermelons came out.  She needed to have a wardrobe change because.... what girl doesn't deserve some wardrobe options?

She didn't waste much time with the watermelon so we moved straight to the fruit bath.  If you've seen her pictures (these are below too) you already know she loved the fruit bath...LOVED the fruit bath!  She had a wonderful time and spent every single second being completely adorable.  I think she may have tasted every piece of fruit in the tub, and no matter how sour the last lemon was she was always ready to give the next one a fair chance!  She is so funny and happy and just a joy to work with. It means just a little bit more knowing that her dad has these moments to take with him when he's gone from home for so long.   She's already back in North Carolina but I know I will be seeing Charlie again soon!
